We'll occasionally include items to download that are unrelated to wine. It may be that we find these things particularly interesting or funnny. Wine's important, but it's only one of life's essential ingredients. Music, food, love & laughter also rate pretty highly. So does beer for that matter!
Please send us items you find equally interesting, and we'll include them - Provided we agree with you of course.

McLaren Vale Dolphins
Cruising off McLaren Vale and a pod of Dolphins decided to join us for the ride. Glass-like water added to the experience. It's not just the wines that are special in this part of the world! JH PS - The quality of the video is not great due to Robert's antiquated camera, but it's good enough. Click on the link below to view. J.
Closures - Screwed for Good?
We're a bit tired of the debate on whether corks are better than screw caps. We use screw caps because they are the most reliable & proven closure available. Until the extensive and ongoing research conducted by the Australian Wine Research Institute & others concludes otherwise, we'll continue to use them. Other closures we like include the Vino-lok glass stopper. These appear to be equally effective as screw caps, plus they're more environmentally friendly being 100% recyclable. There's more testing to be done but this looks promising. Crown Seals - Now these things are the biz. Aside from being the beer closure of choice, Champagne also spends most of its life under a crown seal. It's only when the French package it for sale to all those gorgeous super models do they bother to put a piece of bark in the top of it. We recommend that you always buy bubbles with a crown seal. Anyway - read the link to 'closure champion' Tyson Stelzer and research your heart out. Email us your questions and comments. J.

The Funniest Joke In The World
A friend sent me this joke (audio file) told by Clement Freud on radio - in the UK I think. The themes are adult, but it's hilarious. Have a listen. J.

Wine Library TV
These guys tend to be a little OTT, but you'll get no arguments from us about a lack of passion. We're all for anyone who helps take elitist snobbery out of wine. If you enjoy the banter, there's some good (albeit fairly USA centric) stuff amongst each broadcast. J.
Soccer Penalty
We shouldn't laugh at other people's misfortune, but this is worth a quick look.
Billy Birmingham aka Richie Benaud
This is a classic wine skit by Billy Birmingham doing his Richie Benaud impersonation. Download this file to hear Richie calling his vineyard manager in France. For those of you not from 'real' sporting nations, Richie Benaud is one of the cricket world's most famous commentators. Be warned that aside from Richie's brilliant French accent, there is also some coarse language.
